PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING
Psychometric Testing and Measurement

Historically, organisations recruited persons based on a meeting, a review of their resume and speaking to a former employer who may or may not have a candidate’s best interest at heart. With the growing popularity of psychometric testing, businesses are better able to gain accurate insights from those other activities as to whether or not that person will perform well in the role. At AICL we believe that psychometric testing is one of the most precise ways to weigh the talent of your existing team and to ensure your organisation is recruiting the right people into the right roles. With at least 12 years of the requisite experience, we are pleased to offer this service.

A psychometric test is a scientific method for assessing an individual’s cognitive ability and behavioural characteristics. Psychometric profiling is used in recruitment screening, organisational design, team development and individual development planning. Therefore, the right psychometric tests used in the right way are an essential part of an effective approach to talent management. It is important to use the right psychometric test for recruitment as the benefit of a carefully planned recruitment strategy far outweighs the cost of testing. Therefore at AICL, we are careful to use the right psychometric test as using the wrong assessment can be worse than using none at all.

AICL uses recognised and accredited personality tests which can give an understanding of:

  • Their personality traits and how they are expected to respond to different stimuli in their environment. For example, dealing with stress or making decisions in a timely manner.

And the aptitude tests which assesses:

  • The candidate’s ability to learn, think logically and to solve problems with incomplete information.

  • The candidate’s ability to work well with numbers.

  • Insight into how well they can read and understand written information

We will also provide a tailored analysis of the results in the context of your organisation, roles and priorities.

By using the relevant psychometric analyses, including recruitment assessment tests and tools, we will uncover information you would not generally be informed about. This will be conducted even with very strong candidates as it is much better to know more about what to expect when the candidate begins rather than making a grave discovery when it is already too late.

Finally, you can be assured that you are working with experienced HR consultants at AICL who can assist with the interpretation of the psychometric assessment results with reference to all the other information that is available about the candidate and the unique situation that defines your organisation.
